NEW PROVINCIAL ADMINISTRATION HEADQUARTERS OF TREVISO

The New Provincial Administration Headquarters in Treviso is located just outside the city in the widest European urban park, in an area once occupied by the former Neuro-psychiatric Hospital in S. Artemio, dismissed in 1978 and since then abandoned. It was recently decided to use this complex in order to group in one building all the various offices of the Administration, including the Headquarters.

As far as the window frames are concerned, the Designer decided to use materials according to their location. The wooden windows, that were originally located in the restored areas, were renewed; metal frames, instead, were widely used in those areas that were functionally recovered and they were always properly integrated in each building.

EBE frames by Secco Sistemi were used for all connecting catwalks and in the newly built extension for the existing buildings. The Superintendence had requested, as a statutory requirement, the use of bi-metallic window frames: the external profile made of burnished brass and the internal one made of painted steel. The two profiles are then joined seamlessly with extruded polyamide, enriched with fibreglass and joined to the parts with polyurethane resin.

A similar procedure was used for the Secco Sistemi mullion and transom curtain wall “Termica” type. The internal structure was made in painted steel while the external covers in burnished brass profiles.
Other artefacts, like the entry booth to the various buildings, were made entirely with burnished brass profiles.
