Laws and regulations (Statutory provisions)
On February, 1st 2010 the regulation for the CE markings on doors, windows and shutters became compulsory, following the reference standard EN 14351-1.
The regulation foresees the obligation to provide the Customer with a final CE tag bearing all the performance values for the door, window or shutter sold together with the instruction manual for its use and maintenance.
The values on the tag must be the ones coming from the Initial Typing Test (ITT) of a specimen made at certified labs.
The duty of the window fitter is to draw up a FPC – Factory product control - to ensure that the production of windows, doors and shutters is made with the same procedures with which the tested specimen was
made.
Based on the ITT certificates and recordings, foreseen in the PCP, the manufacturer draws up and retains a declaration of conformity allowing him to apply the CE marking.
In the reference standard is clearly stated that the CE marking must be applied by the manufacturer of doors, windows and shutters.
